A cut at an edge that was always a middle is an effort to retrieve and relate some of the missing, marginal, quiet, celebrated and lost histories upon which present-day Scarborough, a large suburb to the east of Toronto, is built. This multi-channel sound installation is an encounter between audiences and a multiplicity of individuals with important ties to the area. Reflecting on notions of place, land-use and belonging, their voices are braided into a polyphonic, sonic representation of Scarborough.
